ObjectiveSoil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections is prevalent in some areas Indonesia. We predicted that there are few urban area hotspots, especially the less developed area. This study aimed to determine prevalence of STH infection children and its association with environmental factor Jakarta's area.MethodsThis observational took place slum Pluit Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Stool samples were taken from under 5 years old. Duplicate methods Kato-katz Harada Mori used identify eggs or larvae stools. Environment condition, personal toilet ownership was also documented studied by using questionnaire based interviews.ResultsA total 158 stool collected examined. Seventeen (10.76%) positive for infection. One sample had a high number Ascaris lumbricoides' (7.824 eggs/gram stool). Using methods, 16 filariform hookworm found. The data our survey suggested environment's sanitation play major role life cycle.ConclusionThe incidence two still above national goals. most hookworm.
