Histopathological spectrum of testicular lesions in a tertiary care hospital

Testicular tumors are relatively rare and comprise 1% of all male cancers worldwide with peak prevalence in the age group 15-35 years. lesions have a varied histomorphological spectrum largely categorized as non-neoplastic neoplastic lesions. To study incidence testicular lesions, to including well determine age-wise distribution, laterality clinical presentation The present is an observational study, carried out Pathology Department Indira Gandhi Medical college, tertiary care hospital northern India, over duration two years i.e from June 2020 May 2022. A total 52 radical orchidectomy biopsies were studied for gross microscopic findings. 45 specimens 7 studied. Out these, 42 cases non 10 neoplastic. Maximum number patients presented 2 & 4 decade life. Undescended testis was most common lesion (17/42;40.47%), followed by torsion (12/42;28.57%). Seminoma (50%), Mixed Germ Cell Tumors (20%) Non-Hodgkin lymphoma single case yolk sac tumor (10%). Clinically, scrotal swelling (58.53%). Right involved more commonly (32/52;61.53%). represent 10.5% reproductive India. cell accounted highest percentage commonest subtype seminoma mixed germ tumors. Histopathologic examination can help accurately diagnosing determining prognosis these like testis.
