چکیده
Background: Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health problem with 25% of the world’s population infected from causative agent Mycobacterium tuberculosis(MTB). Indian ranks first amongst eight countries reported to have highest burden MTB across globe. TB is categorized into pulmonary and extrapulmonary(EPTB); most common clinical manifestation EPTB being tuberculous lymphadenitis(LNTB). LNTB generally occurs due reactivation latent infection cervical lymph nodes are sites.
Objective: The present research work was conducted explore disease spectrum highlighting specific histopathologic features.
Materials Methods: Twenty-one patients clinically diagnosed were included one node biopsy obtained each patient. formalin-fixed paraffin tissue sections subjected standard hematoxylin & eosin staining (H E stain) understand different histologic features LNTB.
Results: displayed which can be four broad categories as: 1. Early granulomas(n=2); 2. Non-caseating granulomas(n=12); 3. Caseating granulomas(n=6); 4. Massive extensive caseation without Langhan’s giant cells(n=1). well-formed, non-necrotic, epithelioid cell granulomas prominent feature in our study.
Conclusion: above study supports existence ranging early massive necrosis. This aid clinicians for better diagnosis so detection an appropriate treatment disease.

Tuberculous lymphadenitis.
Lymphadenitis is the most common extrapulmonary manifestation of tuberculosis. It remains both diagnostic and therapeutic challenge because it mimics other pathologic processes and yields inconsistent physical and laboratory findings. Diagnosis is difficult often requiring biopsy. A thorough history and physical examination, staining for acid-fast bacilli, fine-needle aspiration and PCR are hel...

A total of 43 episodes of tuberculosis lymphadenitis were treated in 32 adult patients. In 12 instances the affected lymph node was excised without any chemotherapy; there were 10 relapses. The treatment was local excision of the affected lymph nodes together with antituberculosis chemotherapy with at least two drugs in 30 instances; there were no relapses following such therapy.Presumably pati...

Tuberculosis as a cause of obstructive jaundice is a rare entity with only a few cases reported in the literature. Patients with this condition usually present with a protracted illness, jaundice, and weight loss, which may be confused with malignancies. We are reporting unusual case of isolated enlarged tuberculous lymph node compressing the common bile duct in the retropancreatic region and c...
متن کاملDiagnostic challenges in cervical tuberculous lymphadenitis: A review
Tuberculosis is a very serious disease and incidence is once again on the rise. Lymph node tuberculosis is one of the most common extrapulmonary manifestations of tuberculosis. In differential diagnosis of chronic, painless cervical lymphadenopathy, cervical tuberculous lymphadenitis should be kept in mind. A high index of suspicion is needed for diagnosis of tuberculous lymphadenitis, which is...
