Higher-Order Homogenized Boundary Conditions for Flows Over Rough and Porous Surfaces

چکیده
We derive a homogenized macroscopic model for fluid flows over ordered homogeneous porous surfaces. The unconfined free flow is described by the Navier–Stokes equation, and Darcy equation governs seepage within domain. Boundary conditions that accurately capture mass momentum transport at contact surface between these two domains are derived using multiscale homogenization technique. In addition to obtaining generalized version of widely used Beavers–Joseph slip condition tangential velocities, present work provides an accurate formulation transpiration velocity pressure jump fluid–porous interfaces; essential handling two- three-dimensional media. All constitutive parameters appearing in interface computed solving set Stokes problems on much smaller computational domain, making formulations empirical parameters. tensorial form proposed makes it possible handle isotropic, orthotropic, anisotropic A subset conditions, media, can be rough walls. accuracy numerically quantified walls comparing results from our with those obtained geometry-resolved microscopic simulations.

Effective Boundary Conditions for Compressible Flows over Rough Boundaries
Simulations of a flow over a roughness are prohibitively expensive for small scale structures. If the interest is only on some macroscale quantity it will be sufficient to model the influence of the unresolved microscale effects. Such multiscale models rely on an appropriate upscaling strategy. Here the strategy originally developed by Achdou et al. 1 for incompressible flows is extended to com...
متن کاملHigher order multi-point fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions
In this paper, we concerned with positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions. We establish the criteria for the existence of at least one, two and three positive solutions for higher order m-point nonlinear fractional boundary value problems with integral boundary conditions by using a result from the theory of fixed...
متن کاملFree Vibration of a Thick Sandwich Plate Using Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory and DQM for Different Boundary Conditions
In this paper, the effect of different boundary conditions on the free vibration analysis response of a sandwich plate is presented using the higher order shear deformation theory. The face sheets are orthotropic laminated composites that follow the first order shear deformation theory (FSDT) based on the Rissners-Mindlin (RM) kinematics field. The motion equations are derived considering the c...

In this paper, we present a method for constructing Loop’s subdivision surface patches with given G boundary conditions and a given topology of control polygon, using several fourth-order geometric partial differential equations. These equations are solved by a mixed finite element method in a function space defined by the extended Loop’s subdivision scheme. The method is flexible to the shape ...
