High Temperature Adsorption of SO2 on Mixed Oxides Derived from CaAl Hydrotalcite-Like Compounds

SO2 which is usually emitted at high temperature one of the most important air pollutants. It great significance to develop adsorbent with efficiency and low cost. In this work, a series hydrotalcite-like compound-derived CaAlO CaXAlO(X = Ce, Co) were prepared by coprecipitation calcination method, employed as adsorbents for adsorption (700 °C). The structure surface properties these characterized XRD, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET), Derivative thermogravimetric analysis (DTG) CO2-TPD (temperature programmed desorption) measurement. Addition minor amount Co (5 wt%) could significantly increase number weak alkalinity sites. CaO in CaCeAlO showed best capacity 1.34 g/g, two times higher than that (0.58 g/g).
