چکیده

Introduction: Metastasectomy is one of the effective treatment methods for liver metastases developing from primary colorectal cancer (CRC). However, recurrence after metastasectomy biggest problem in these cancers.
The present study aimed to examine role Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transition (EMT) development CRCs.
Materials and Methods: In study, 85 patients were evaluated. RNA was isolated archive tumors normal tissues patients. Expression profiles 7 different EMT markers examined using qRT-PCR.
Results: Metastasis developed 24.7% (n=21) CRC. Recurrence observed 42.3% (n=9) metastasectomy. Statistically significant increases detected expression TWIST SNAIL mCC CRC (p

Intraoperative Blood Loss Independently Predicts Survival and Recurrence after Resection of Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis

BACKGROUND Although numerous prognostic factors have been reported for colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM), few studies have reported intraoperative blood loss (IBL) effects on clinical outcome after CRLM resection. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated the clinical and histopathological characteristics of 139 patients who underwent liver resection for CRLM. The IBL cutoff volume was cal...

Recurrence after hepatic resection in colorectal cancer liver metastasis -Review article-

The outcomes and management of colorectal liver metastasis have undergone many changes. The incidence of recurrence after liver resection for hepatic metastasis remains very high. Liver resection, which provides the only curative treatment, is believed to have improved the long-term outcome of these patients. However, the management and outcomes of patients with colorectal liver metastasis have...

Risk factors for cancer recurrence or death within 6 months after liver resection in patients with colorectal cancer liver metastasis

PURPOSE The aim of this study was to find risk factors for early recurrence (ER) and early death (ED) after liver resection for colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRCLM). METHODS Between May 1990 and December 2011, 279 patients underwent liver resection for CRCLM at Korea University Medical Center. They were assigned to group ER (recurrence within 6 months after liver resection) or group NER...

Predictors of early recurrence after resection of colorectal liver metastases

BACKGROUND Early recurrence after resection of colorectal liver metastases (CLM) is common. Patients at risk of early recurrence may be candidates for enhanced preoperative staging and/or earlier postoperative imaging. The aim of this study was to determine if there are any risk factors that specifically predict early liver-only and systemic recurrence. METHODS Retrospective analysis of prosp...

MACC1 mRNA levels predict cancer recurrence after resection of colorectal cancer liver metastases.

OBJECTIVE Upon colon cancer metastasis resection in liver, disease outcome is heterogeneous, ranging from indolent to very aggressive, with early recurrence. The aim of this study is to investigate the capability of metastasis associated in colon cancer 1 (MACC1) levels measured in liver metastasis specimens to predict further recurrence of the disease. METHODS Gene expression and gene dosage...
