High-Pressure Torsion of Non-Equilibrium Hydrogen Storage Materials: A Review

As the most abundant element in world, hydrogen is a promising energy carrier and has received continuously growing attention last couple of decades. At very moment, fuel imagined as part sustainable eco-friendly system, “hydrogen grand challenge”. Among large number storage solutions, solid-state considered to be safest efficient route for on-board applications via cell devices. Notwithstanding various advantages, storing lightweight compact form still presents barrier towards wide-spread commercialization technology. In this review paper we summarize latest findings on solutions different non-equilibrium systems which have been synthesized by mechanical routes based severe plastic deformation. these deformation techniques, high-pressure torsion proved proficient method due extremely high applied shear strain that develops bulk nanocrystalline amorphous materials.
