چکیده

Provision, uptake, adherence, and completion rates for supervised exercise programs (SEPs) intermittent claudication (IC) are low. For patients, 12-week SEPs too time-intensive. A shorter, more time-efficient, 6-week, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program may be an effective alternative that is acceptable to patients easier deliver. The aim of this study was determine the feasibility HIIT with IC. This a single group, two-center, proof-of-concept study. performed in secondary care included IC who were referred usual-care SEPs. three times per week 6 weeks involved 1:1 work rest ratio. Outcomes feasibility, tolerability, potential safety, efficacy. Some 280 screened, 165 (59%) eligible 40 (25%) recruited HIIT. majority (n = 31; 78%) completed Of nine excluded or withdrew, (7.5%) unable tolerate procedures. Patients attended 99% sessions, 85% sessions full, 84% intervals at required intensity. There no related serious adverse events. mean improvements maximal walking distance physical component summary 94 m (95% confidence interval, 66.6-120.8 m), 2.2 0.3-4.1) respectively. Uptake comparable SEPs, but higher. Most improvement summary. appears feasible, tolerable, potentially safe beneficial It provide deliverable, form SEP. Further research comparing warranted.

A study of intensity, fatigue and precision in two specific interval trainings in young tennis players: high-intensity interval training versus intermittent interval training

BACKGROUND The aim of this study is to find the differences between two specific interval exercises. We begin with the hypothesis that the use of microintervals of work and rest allow for greater intensity of play and a reduction in fatigue. METHODS Thirteen competition-level male tennis players took part in two interval training exercises comprising nine 2 min series, which consisted of hitt...

Patients with Intermittent Claudication

Increased blood viscosity has been shown to be an important factor in reducing blood flow in a review and analysis of the history, clinical findings, and haemodynamic, rheological, radiological, and biochemical measurements in 126 patients with intermittent claudication. In some patients increased viscosity seemed to be the determining cause of claudication. A raised plasma fibrinogen was the m...

High-Intensity Interval Training in Patients with Substance Use Disorder

Patients with substance use disorder (SUD) suffer a higher risk of cardiovascular disease and other lifestyle diseases compared to the general population. High intensity training has been shown to effectively reduce this risk, and therefore we aimed to examine the feasibility and effect of such training in SUD patients in clinical treatment in the present study. 17 males and 7 females (32 ± 8 y...
