چکیده

Malignant brain tumors remain one of the most complex problem in modern oncology, being among dangerous types cancer not only because their poor prognosis, but also due to immediate consequences for quality life and cognitive functions. It is expected that number such patients will increase as expectancy population increases. The mortality rate with malignant gliomas remains highest all patients. The median survival this does exceed 24.5 months. Despite serious progress study molecular biology type tumor, question effective application knowledge treatment process open. The review highlights advanced diagnostic methods analyzes effectiveness a multidisciplinary therapeutic strategy. Special attention given search new approaches radiosurgical high-grade order duration improve literature divided into 2 parts. Part 1 covers epidemiology, clinic, diagnosis gliomas, well combined approach disease. In 2nd part, issues stereotactic radiosurgery features practical “gamma knife” device pathology are highlighted; multimodal analyzed.

[Biomarkers in high-grade gliomas: A systematic review].

BACKGROUND Biomarkers are a subcategory of clinical signs that can be measured and reproduced with precision and influence to predict outcome. Tissue, cells, and fluid conform the biological process. Biomarker usefulness is to determine and specify illness predisposition counting with variability and validity. Process systematization can reduce operative costs. To date, four major biomarkers ha...

Application of 5-ALA Fluorescence-Guided Resection in Patients Suffering from High-Grade Gliomas: Report of 30 Consecutive Cases and a Literature Review

Background and Importance: The extent of resection seems a solid prognostic factor in patients suffering from high-grade gliomas (HGGs). When administered orally, 5-ALA is exclusively converted by malignant cells into protoporphyrin IX (PPIX), identifying contrast-enhancing glial lesions under blue 400-nm light. The authors thoroughly assess the efficacy, accuracy, and safety profile of 5-ALA-g...

Bevacizumab in temozolomide refractory high-grade gliomas: single-centre experience and review of the literature

Background Despite multidisciplinary treatment approaches, the prognosis for patients with high-grade glioma (HGG) is poor, with a median overall survival (OS) of 14.6 months for glioblastoma multiforme (GB). As high levels of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF) are found in HGG, targeted anti-antiangiogenic therapy using the humanized monoclonal antibody bevacizumab (BEV) was studied i...

Bevacizumab in high-grade gliomas: a review of its uses, toxicity assessment, and future treatment challenges

High-grade gliomas continue to have dismal prognosis despite advances made in understanding the molecular genetics, signaling pathways, cytoskeletal dynamics, and the role of stem cells in gliomagenesis. Conventional treatment approaches, including surgery, radiotherapy, and cytotoxic chemotherapy, have been used with limited success. Therapeutic advances using molecular targeted therapy, immun...
