چکیده

AbstractBackground High-frequency rTMS over the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) has demonstrated mixed effects on chronic and provoked pain. Objectives/Methods In this study, a meta-analysis was conducted to characterise potential analgesic of high-frequency DLPFC both Results A total 626 studies were identified in systematic search. Twenty-six eligible included for quantitative review, among which 17 modulated pain remaining investigated influence The left side uniformly targeted studies. While our data no overall effect TMS across conditions, there significant short-term analgesia neuropathic conditions only (SMD = −0.87). terms long-lasting analgesia, an reduction midterm −0.53, 24.6 days average) long term −0.63, 3 months post stimulation, although these not observed within specific conditions. Working memory improvement with non-invasive brain stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Recent studies have used non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques, such as repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), to increase dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) activity and, consequently, working memory (WM) performance. However, such experiments have yielded mixed results, possibly due to small sample sizes and heter...

Effects of slow rTMS at the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex on EEG asymmetry and mood.

In a sham-controlled design (n = 12), slow repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) was applied to the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex for 20 min, and the subsequent effects on mood and the EEG spectrum were investigated, Analysis revealed a significant left hemisphere increase in EEG theta activity at 25-35 and 55-65 min after stimulation. In addition, participants reported sig...
