چکیده
Abstract As a classic problem in oceanographic and coastal engineering hydrodynamics, solitary wave propagation is used to benchmark novel high-fidelity numerical model based on the Navier–Stokes equations. The combines Finite Volume method Merged Stencil with 3rd-order reconstruction (FVMS3) Tangent of Hyperbola for INterface Capturing Quadratic surface representation Gaussian Quadrature (THINC/QQ) schemes. Accurate predictions are made inviscid viscous waves propagating plane sloping beaches. Model performance assessed by comparing analytical solutions, alternative results obtained using interFoam solver OpenFOAM commercial flow software ANSYS Fluent, as well experimental data. It demonstrated that present significantly reduces undesirable effects, including energy loss, decay, phase shift, overestimation velocity profile even after long duration computations, suppressing dissipation dispersion.

Numerical simulation of flood wave propagation due to failure of dam watersheds in fluent model
By numerical simulation of the phenomenon of failure of dams and the flow of their flow, it is possible to design more precisely the structures and their location. The purpose of this study was to investigate the wave propagation phenomenon due to the failure of the rocky mortar-watering dam in the Marivan sub-basin of Zarivar in two-dimensional and three-dimensional models using the Fluent mod...
متن کاملHigh-fidelity numerical simulation of complex dynamics of tethered spacecraft
This paper presents an analytical model and a geometric numerical integrator for a tethered spacecraft model that is composed of two rigid bodies connected by an elastic tether. This high-fidelity model includes important dynamic characteristics of tethered spacecraft in orbit, namely the nonlinear coupling between tether deformations, rigid body rotational dynamics, a reeling mechanism, and or...
متن کاملNumerical investigation of free surface flood wave and solitary wave using incompressible SPH method
Simulation of free surface flow and sudden wave profile are recognized as the most challenging problem in computational hydraulics. Several Eulerian/Lagrangian approaches and models can be implemented for simulating such phenomena in which the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH) is categorized as a proper candidate. The incompressible SPH (ISPH) method hires a precise incompressible hy...
متن کاملSimulation of Wave Propagation over Coastal Structures Using WCSPH Method
In this paper a space-averaged Navier–Stokes approach was deployed to simulate the wave propagation over coastal structures. The developed model is based on the smoothed particle hydrodynamic (SPH) method which is a pure Lagrangian approach and can handle large deformations of the free surface with high accuracy. In this study, the large eddy simulation (LES) turbulent model was coupled with th...
متن کاملHigh-fidelity numerical simulation of solitons in the nerve axon
High-order accurate finite difference schemes are derived for a nonlinear soliton model of nerve signal propagation in axons. Two types of well-posed boundary conditions are analysed. The boundary closures are based on the summation-by-parts (SBP) framework and the boundary conditions are imposed using a penalty (SAT) technique, to guarantee linear stability. The resulting SBP-SAT approximation...
