چکیده
The potential of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions highly depends on the vehicle usage and electricity source. In addition, high costs battery pack components suppose a challenge manufacturers. However, internal combustion engine complexity can be reduced due its lower use as compared no-hybrid vehicles. This work evaluates new opposed piston 2-stroke engine, based rod-less innovative kinematics, in series PHEV architecture kinematics along different driving routes Europe. A 0D-vehicle model fed with experimental tests is used. size optimized under homologation conditions for two types. optimum case tested several real modes states charge. main contribution this demonstration CO2 cost an engine. results show that 24 kWh both platforms. Charge depleting mode shows 70% tailpipe reduction urban cycles 22% long travels version. sustaining 20% 2% distance respect spite manufacturing, LCA 52% charge 7% against case.

Design Optimization of a Series Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle for Real-World Driving Conditions
This paper proposes a framework to perform design optimization of a series PHEV and investigates the impact of using real-world driving inputs on final design. Real-World driving is characterized from a database of naturalistic driving generated in Field Operational Tests. The procedure utilizes Markov chains to generate synthetic drive cycles representative of real-world driving. Subsequently,...

Defining key parameters for a charge sustaining supervisory (torque split) control strategy as well as an engine and catalyst warm-up strategy for a Split Parallel Architecture Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (SPA E-REV) is accomplished through empirically and experimentally measuring vehicle tailpipe emissions and energy consumption for two distinct control strategies. The results of the exper...

Due to the inherent nature of combustion in the Cylinder of a Conventional Internal combustion engine, stress variation as well as a certain temperature distribution sets up in the entire piston. Analysis of piston is required because of its shape and it is subjected to both structural and thermal loads. In the present study, piston of a two stroke spark ignition internal combustion engine havi...
متن کاملData-Based Assessment of Plug-in Electric Vehicle Driving
The limited driving range of electric vehicles (EV) is one of the biggest deployment challenges for electromobility. We use GPS driving data from a fleet of about 1,000 conventional private vehicles collected over two years to simulate energy consumption of electric cars. We estimate how much energy is required for EV charging at home and at a secondary parking location (e.g., at work) and to w...
