چکیده

In this study, the dynamic range and dispersion stability of a shear-type magnetorheological (MR) grease damper were experimentally investigated as important characteristics affecting performance semi-active vibration suppression. Furthermore, was applied to suppression small single-degree-of-freedom model structure subjected seismic excitation. The test results indicated that it has 157 times, which is much higher than conventional MR dampers. Also, because high grease, showed its can be kept for 9 days longer in comparison with similar using fluid. Moreover, structural demonstrated suppress response over wide frequency by applying skyhook-based control, take full advantage damper’s range.

Dynamic Magnetorheological Damper for Orthotic Tremor Suppression

This paper explores the design methodology and effectiveness of small-scale magnetorheological dampers (MRDs) in applications that require rapidly variable damping. Previously applications of MRDs have been chiefly limited to vehicle shock absorbers and seismic vibration attenuators. There has been recent biomedical interest in active-damping technology, particularly in the field of rehabilitat...

Semi-active vibration isolation of a quarter car model under random road excitations using Magnetorheological damper

Semi active control systems are becoming increasingly popular because they offer reliability of passive systems combined with high performance and versatility of active control systems but with low power consumptions. As Magnetorheological (MR) fluids can produce good controllable damping force under application of magnetic field, MR damper can be used as effective element in semiactive vibrati...

Harmonic analysis of a magnetorheological damper for vibration control

Semi-active control systems are becoming more popular because they offer both the reliability of passive systems and the versatility of active control systems without imposing heavy power demands. In particular, it has been found that magnetorheological (MR) fluids can be designed to be very effective vibration control actuators, which use MR fluids to produce controllable damping force. The ob...

Semi-Active Pulse-Switching SSDC Vibration Suppression using Magnetostrictive Materials

One of the best vibration control methods using smart actuators are semi-active approaches which are as strong as active methods and need no external energy supply such as passive ones. Compared with piezoelectric-based, magnetostrictive-based control methods have higher coupling efficiency, higher Curie temperature, higher flexibility to be integrated with curved structures and no depolarizati...

Dynamic Modeling of Magnetorheological Damper Behaviors

Based on theoretical analysis and experiments, this article proposes a new model for a magnetorheological (MR) damper. The proposed model with a smooth and concise form can interpret the bi-viscous and hysteretic behaviors of the MR damper very well. The parameters in the model have definite physical meanings. The bi-viscous and hysteretic behaviors can be characterized by two parameters 0 and ...
