چکیده
Genetic linkage maps provide a useful resource for non-model genomes and can aid in genome reassembly to form more contiguous pseudo-chromosomes. We present the first map of any cephalopod, H. maculosa, composed 47 groups (LG). A total 2166 single nucleotide polymorphisms 2455 presence–absence variant loci were utilised by Lep-Map3 construction. The length spans 2016.62 cM with an average marker distance 0.85 cM. Integration recent maculosa allowed 1151 scaffolds comprising 34% genomic sequence be orientated and/or placed using 1278 markers across all LG. generated provides new perspective on HOX gene distribution octopods. In three (SCR, LOX4 POST1) six identified genes (HOX1/LAB, SCR, LOX2, LOX4, LOX5, located within same LG (LG 9). generation has provided valuable understanding evolution cephalopod will base future work.

Genome‐wide comparisons reveal a clinal species pattern within a holobenthic octopod—the Australian Southern blue‐ringed octopus, Hapalochlaena maculosa (Cephalopoda: Octopodidae)
The southern blue-ringed octopus, Hapalochlaena maculosa (Hoyle, 1883) lacks a planktonic dispersal phase, yet ranges across Australia's southern coastline. This species' brief and holobenthic life history suggests gene flow might be limited, leaving distant populations prone to strong genetic divergence. This study used 17,523 genome-wide SNP loci to investigate genetic structuring and local a...
متن کاملHow does the blue-ringed octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata) flash its blue rings?
The blue-ringed octopus (Hapalochlaena lunulata), one of the world's most venomous animals, has long captivated and endangered a large audience: children playing at the beach, divers turning over rocks, and biologists researching neurotoxins. These small animals spend much of their time in hiding, showing effective camouflage patterns. When disturbed, the octopus will flash around 60 iridescent...
متن کاملA high-density integrated genetic linkage and radiation hybrid map of the laboratory rat.
The laboratory rat (Rattus norvegicus) is a key animal model for biomedical research. However, the genetic infrastructure required for connecting phenotype and genotype in the rat is currently incomplete. Here, we report the construction and integration of two genomic maps: a dense genetic linkage map of the rat and the first radiation hybrid (RH) map of the rat. The genetic map was constructed...
متن کاملConstruction of the High-Density Genetic Linkage Map and Chromosome Map of Large Yellow Croaker (Larimichthys crocea).
High-density genetic maps are essential for genome assembly, comparative genomic analysis and fine mapping of complex traits. In this study, 31,191 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) evenly distributed across the large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) genome were identified using restriction-site associated DNA sequencing (RAD-seq). Among them, 10,150 high-confidence SNPs were assigned ...
