High-Altitude Platform Stations as International Mobile Telecommunications Base Stations: A Primer on HIBS

چکیده
Mobile communication via high-altitude platforms operating in the stratosphere is an idea that has been on table for decades. In past few years, however, with recent advances technology and parallel progress standardization regulatory bodies like 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) International Telecommunications Union (ITU), these ideas have gained considerable momentum. this article, we present a comprehensive overview of platform stations (HAPS) as international mobile telecommunications (IMT) base (BS) (HIBS). We lay out possible use cases summarize current status development from technological point view well 3GPP regarding spectrum aspects. then some system-level simulation results to shed light performance HIBS. conclude by pointing several directions future research.

متن کاملLocating Base Stations for Mobile Servers
In this paper we review location models, specifically covering location models, which are applicable to modeling the location of base stations for cellular phone users. The definition of cover is revisited, suggesting three new definitions of cover: two gradual cover models, and one sum cover model. A new objective for covering models, the variable radius model, is proposed. The probability tha...
متن کاملBase Stations in Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks
Multi-hop ad-hoc networks consist of nodes which cooperate by forwarding packets for each other to allow communication beyond the power range of each node. In pure ad-hoc networks, no additional infrastructure is required to allow the nodes to communicate. Multi-hop hybrid networks are a combination of ad-hoc and cellular networks. As in ad-hoc networks, the nodes forward packets on behalf of o...
متن کاملMobile phone base stations-Effects on wellbeing and health.
Studying effects of mobile phone base station signals on health have been discouraged by authoritative bodies like WHO International EMF Project and COST 281. WHO recommended studies around base stations in 2003 but again stated in 2006 that studies on cancer in relation to base station exposure are of low priority. As a result only few investigations of effects of base station exposure on heal...
