Hibernoma: a case report and discussion of a rare tumor

Intriduction . Hibernomas account for less than 2 % of all benign lipomatous tumors and 1 tumors. They are usually found in 20–40-year old adults (the average age patients is 38 years). The clinical manifestations painless soft tissue mass that mostly slow growing; rapid growth only a small number patients. We present case successful surgical treatment pathologically confirmed rare tumor large size, which was located the tissues thigh. Clinical A 46-year-old woman admitted to hospital due 20 × 10 cm had developed years ago anteromedial aspect proximal Furthermore, she history hypoesthesia one month prior her admission. During surgery, femoral nerve be compressed by tumor. resultant symptoms probably caused patient seek medical care. Resection performed careful dissection, vessels were spared. Histopathological examination cytogenetics showed findings suggestive hibernoma. At 6-month follow-up local recurrence or metastasis not found. Conclusions Asymptomatic small-sized hibernoma does require resection other treatment. When too and/or has potential compress surrounding tissues, timely radical intervention reuired.
