Herbal supplementation improves clinical outcomes among diabetes mellitus patients

Hyperglycemic conditions are still common in diabetes melllitus (DM) patients with routine therapy. Rural communities the Special Region of Yogyakarta habitually consume herbal medicines. Herbal nutritional supplements (MHM) were developed as additional therapy to increase success achieving therapeutic targets for DM patients. This study aimed identify clinical picture who given MHM at public health center (PHC) rural areas Bantul Regency, Region. retrospective was conducted on 94 Patients met inclusion and exclusion criteria had agreed informed consent divided into two groups. treatment group asked supplement preparations 20 days. On day 21, each measured outcome parameters (blood pressure, blood glucose levels, triglycerides, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL), low (LDL), liver enzymes, urea, creatinine). The mean difference test between groups (t-test) carried out using a 95% confidence level. results showed that consumption days reduced sugar Hb A1C urea levels (p<0.05). There no differences pulse, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, serum glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase (SGOT), pyruvic (SGPT), creatinine (p>0.05). Administration increased outcomes sugar, HbA1c, PHC.
