HERBAL DRUG USE FREQUENCY, REASONS, AND EFFECTS ON PUBLIC HEALTH: AN ETHICAL ANALYSIS

Introduction: Herbal products are generally considered safe because of their natural origin with the belief that "herbs harmless". medicines, teas, and mixtures can be purchased by consumers via internet telephone without supervision a doctor. The ease direct sale herbal to consumers, potential toxicity, contamination, deception, interactions drugs food pose threat public health.
 Objective: In this study, we aimed investigate frequency use medicines reasons for in Sivas city center its districts.
 Method: prepared questionnaires were approved Chamber Pharmacists' board directors administered patients under pharmacist. results evaluated chi-square test.
 Findings: According research results; bought from herbalists, online, no one knows about content, dosage is not known, side effects they easily used prescription drugs, there information eliminations. Worst all, 70% society tends products. Doctors do know much phytotherapy therefore cannot recommend case, most ignorant charlatans have say. Pharmacists can't compete herbalists who act recklessly regard. product licenses unfortunately given Ministry Health.
 Conclusion: short, continue health as "bomb pin pulled" unless precautions taken.
