چکیده
Abstract This study aimed to evaluate hemogasometric and metabolic indicators in the first postpartum hours of dairy cows that received different cation-anion diets prepartum period. Holstein (n=14), multiparous, were divided into two groups: (1) acidogenic diet (DA -27.13 mEq/100 g DM) (n=7) (2) neutral (DN -3.25 (n=7), provided from 30 days before expected calving. Urine samples collected every three beginning supplementation until day delivery for pH verification. Blood at 0, 6, 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 72 h biochemical analyses. The animals DA presented lower urinary pH. serum concentration total calcium, ionized calcium incidence subclinical hypocalcemia did not differ between groups. Animals reduction blood levels plasma proteins, globulins, bicarbonate pH, addition increased activity paraoxone-1 haptoglobin DN. In conclusion, we can infer that, anionic alter interfere with protein synthesis, probably improve antioxidant capacity.

Formulating Diets with Optimum Cation-Anion Difference for Lactating Dairy Cows
Dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) has been a topic of considerable research in dairy cows nutrition for the last 2 decades (NRC, 2001). Much of the early work addressed effects of DCAD on periparturient Ca metabolism and metabolic health of transition dairy cows (NRC, 2001; Block, 1994). Over roughly the same period time, some but less research focused on the effects of DCAD on lactational...

Objective of this study was to determine the effects of varying dietary cation-anion differences (DCAD) in prepartum period on milk fever, subclinical hypocalcemia and negative energy balance in dairy cows of Urmia, Iran. Ninety nine Holstein cows assigned to three groups (n=33) were fed diets with DCAD of -24 (anionic), +80 (cationic) and +230 (cationic) mEq/Kg dry matter for 3 weeks before ex...
متن کاملDecreased concentration of plasma leptin in periparturient dairy cows is caused by negative energy balance.
Dairy cows suffer from an intense energy deficit at parturition due to the onset of copious milk synthesis and depressed appetite. Despite this deficit, maternal metabolism is almost completely devoted to the support of mammary metabolism. Evidence from rodents suggests that, during periods of nutritional insufficiency, a reduction in plasma leptin serves to co-ordinate energy metabolism. As an...
متن کاملA Dairy Herd Case Investigation with Very Low Dietary Cation–Anion Difference in Prepartum Dairy Cows
During the periparturient period, subclinical hypocalcemia (total plasma Ca concentration <2.0 mmol/l) is a potential problem for the dairy cow; consequently, its prevention is essential for success of fertility and productive performance. Dietary cation-anion difference (DCAD) has been defined as the difference in milliequivalents of cations (Na, K) and anions (Cl, S) per kilogram of dry matte...
