GaAs Using Nondestructive Acousto-Electric Voltage Measurement
The amplitude and the transient time constant of the acoustoelectric voltage is measured as a function of temperature to determine the activation energy of deep levels in AI,Ga, -.As/GaAs grown by molecular-beam epitaxy. In comparison to other methods based on monitoring the capacitance transient, this method has several advantages. The technique is nondestructive, and because of the dependence...
متن کاملAssessment and Monitoring for Railway Tracks Reliability and Safety using Nondestructive Testing Measurement Systems
The deterioration of railway tracks raises great concerns about the integrity of assessments and evaluations of railway tracks currently in service. Integrated inspection strategies coupled with innovations in inspection technology can lead to significant improvements in operational cost efficiency and reliability without the requirement of a fundamental shift in the existing understanding o...
متن کاملExperimental implementation of reverse time migration for nondestructive evaluation applications.
Reverse time migration (RTM) is a commonly employed imaging technique in seismic applications (e.g., to image reservoirs of oil). Its standard implementation cannot account for multiple scattering/reverberation. For this reason it has not yet found application in nondestructive evaluation (NDE). This paper applies RTM imaging to NDE applications in bounded samples, where reverberation is always...
متن کاملNondestructive measurement of refractive index profile for holey fiber preforms.
A non-destructive technique is presented to determine the refractive index profile of holey fiber preforms. The holes are filled with index matching oil and the holey preform deflection data is measured. An improved optical path-length formula and back projection method is used to reconstruct the two-dimensional filled holey fiber preform refractive index distribution.
متن کاملNondestructive Measurement of Carotenoids in Plant Tissues by Fluorescence Quenching
other compounds found in healthy cell walls (Cochrane et al., 2000), as well as from a number of compounds Carotenoids, compounds valuable for their antioxidant properties that increase in concentration during host–pathogen inin humans and animals, are sometimes present in the bran layers of teractions (Pierce and Essenberg, 1987; Belefant-Miller rice (Oryza sativa L.). We developed a nondestru...
