RHYTHM—a server to predict the orientation of transmembrane helices in channels and membrane-coils
RHYTHM is a web server that predicts buried versus exposed residues of helical membrane proteins. Starting from a given protein sequence, secondary and tertiary structure information is calculated by RHYTHM within only a few seconds. The prediction applies structural information from a growing data base of precalculated packing files and evolutionary information from sequence patterns conserved...
متن کاملGeneralization of general helices and slant helices
In this work, we use the formal definition of $k$-slant helix cite{ali2} to obtain the intrinsic equations as well as the position vector for emph{slant-slant helices} which a generalization of emph{general helices} and emph{slant helices}. Also, we present some characterizations theorems for $k$-slant helices and derived, in general form, the intrinsic equations for such curves. Thereafter, fr...
متن کاملGeneralized Helices and Singular Points
In this paper, we define X-slant helix in Euclidean 3-space and we obtain helix, slant helix, clad and g-clad helix as special case of the X-slant helix. Then we study Darboux, tangential darboux developable surfaces and their singular points. Especially we show that the striction lines of these surfaces are singular locus of the surfaces.

متن کاملLancret Helices
Helical configurations of inhomogeneous symmetric rods with non-constant bending and twisting stiffness are studied within the framework of the Kirchhoff rod model. From the static Kirchhoff equations, we obtain a set of differential equations for the curvature and torsion of the centerline of the rod and the Lancret’s theorem is used to find helical solutions. We obtain a free standing helical...
