Heavy Metals Removal from Water by Efficient Adsorbents

چکیده
Natural occurrence and anthropogenic practices contribute to the release of pollutants, specifically heavy metals, in water over years. Therefore, this leads a demand proper treatment minimize harmful effects toxic metals water, so that supply clean can be distributed into environment or household. This review highlights several methods used removing metal from water. Among various methods, adsorption process is considered as one highly effective treatments functionalization adsorbents fully enhance process. four classes adsorbent sources are highlighted: polymeric, natural mineral, industrial by-product, carbon nanomaterial adsorbent. The major purpose gather up-to-date information on research development by emphasizing capability, effect pH, isotherm kinetic model, removal efficiency contact time every

Removal of Heavy Metals from Waste Water Using Water Hyacinth
-Water pollution has become one of the most serious problems of today’s civilization. In the last few years considerable amount of research has been done on the potential of aquatic macrophytes for pollutant removal or even as bio-indicators for heavy metals in aquatic ecosystems. Water hyacinth is one of the aquatic plant species successfully used for wastewater treatment. It is very efficient...
متن کاملRemoval of Heavy Metals from Aqueous Solution by Mordenite Nanocrystals
This study examined the ability of the synthetic mordenite nanocrystal to remove Tl(III) and As(III) from an aqueous solution. The determination of the concentration changes of H+ and OH- quantities in the acidic (pH 3) and alkali (pH 9) treated mordenite nanocrystals were done by the potentiometric titration curves. The maximum uptake capacities (Qmax) of these metal ions using the mordenite i...
متن کاملRemoval of heavy metals from waste water using different biosorbents
The discharge of waste water containing heavy metals like Cr, Cd, Cu from tanneries, electroplating units, metal processing industry etc is the major cause for metal pollution which in turn causes adverse effects in the environment. The conventional methods available for removal of heavy metal are costly and also produce some toxic sludge. This has lead to the invention of new technology like b...
متن کاملRemoval of arsenic from water by different adsorbents
Present study is carried out for the removal of As(lII) from water using commonly available adsorbents such as sand, from Yamuna river (Delhi ), as well as from Ganga river (Kolkata), activated carbon, Hametite ore and sand -iron scrap mixture. All these adsorbents are used as received but sand and activated carbon which do not show much adsorption for As(lII) are modified by treating with diff...
متن کاملLow-cost adsorbents for heavy metals uptake from contaminated water: a review.
In this article, the technical feasibility of various low-cost adsorbents for heavy metal removal from contaminated water has been reviewed. Instead of using commercial activated carbon, researchers have worked on inexpensive materials, such as chitosan, zeolites, and other adsorbents, which have high adsorption capacity and are locally available. The results of their removal performance are co...
