The use of heavy goods vehicles (HGV) has grown locally and globally. In this regard, every road user faces a high accident risk is susceptible to traffic-related injuries deaths. There substantial focus on law enforcement prevent overloading, speeding, illegal substance among drivers. Nonetheless, evidence about the complex causes HGV accidents still scarce. Thus, paper aims outline literature related study examine factors accidents. Several that significantly contribute have been identified in review. established three main with 15 sub-HGV factors. Human Factor was most dominant, while Vehicle least acclaimed factor. review also found several areas for further empirical improvements by including diverse data sources, more extensive database, advanced analysis. Moreover, technology advancements are required capture detailed richer future studies HGV. Future essential reducing fatality rate line Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Goal 3 target 6, which reduces number individuals killed or wounded vehicle worldwide.
