Heat Transfer Analysis of the Flat Plate Solar Thermal Collectors with Elliptical and Circular Serpentine Tubes

In this study, the heat transfer characteristics of flat plate collectors with circular and elliptical serpentine tubes are theoretically analyzed compared in terms m˙, Re, Nu, hfi, FR, Qu, μTh under various water flow rates standard test conditions. The results reveal that maximum correspondence to design 56% turbulent flow, minimum 47% for cross-section laminar flow. addition, it was found highest useful energy gain per unit time (493.8 W) through system is possible when m˙ vice versa. It concluded that, at same area, larger contact area would improve FR Qu by an average 2%. Overall, crucial evaluate thermal parameters collector during preliminary stage fabricate a highly efficient save as well initial cost.
