Health-related quality of life of HIV-infected children in Uyo. Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria

Background: HIV-infected children are surviving into adolescence and adulthood due to the effectiveness of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) but they now have cope with living a chronic disease. Health-related quality life (HRQOL) has been shown be an invaluable tool in assessing health outcome conditions including HIV. Little is known about HRQOL both developing developed countries. The study aimed at Nigerian HIV infection compare it that healthy Uyo. Methods: A cross-sectional 211 aged 2 15 years age, sex social class-matched HIV-uninfected their caregivers was conducted University Uyo Teaching Hospital, for duration nine months from October 2016 July 2017. generic version Pediatric Quality Life Inventory (PedsQL 4.0) used measure HRQOL.
