چکیده
Objective: This study aims to determine whether HbA1c level has a correlation with vascular endothelial growthfactor (VEGF) serum in diabetic retinopathy (DR) patients. Methods: is an analytical cross-sectional of patients DR due type 2 diabetes, purposivesampling technique. Patients were grouped into non-proliferative (NPDR) and proliferative (PDR). HbA1cand VEGF levels assessed by taking the patient’s venous blood. Results: A total 82 samples included, which mean 8.17% ± 1.91% medianVEGF 85.78 ng/L (range 38.23-149.43 ng/L). 23 out 35 NPDR female (65.7%),while 29 47 PDR male (61.7%). Approximately 61.7% had DM duration ofmore than 10 years, while 62.9% less years. There was increasein group compared NPDR, although it not statistically significant (p =0.214), there no difference median two groups. Spearman’s analysisrevealed between HbA1 retinopathy, both PDRgroups (correlation coefficient 0.183 -0.022 respectively). Conclusion: No found diabeticretinopathy patients. In this poor glycemic control proven for their implications VEGFprogression. may be used as marker severity.

Serum Levels of Interferon-Gamma in Patients with Diabetic Retinopathy
Background: In recent years, numerous studies have addressed the role of other factors, especially the immune system, on developing diabetic retinopathy. Given the role of interferons in regulating immune system activities, the present study was conducted to investigate serum levels of interferon-gamma in patients with diabetic retinopathy. Materials and Methods: The present research was condu...
متن کاملSerum Levels of Sialic Acid and Neuraminidase Activity in Cardiovascular, Diabetic and Diabetic Retinopathy Patients
Background: Sialic acid is a component of serum that is elevated in diseases such as diabetes and certain malignancies. The normal range of SSA concentration and serum neuraminidase activity in different populations are varied, probably due to racial differences. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to obtain the average SSA concentration and serum neuraminidase activity, in an Iran...
متن کاملDiabetic Retinopathy and VEGF
Diabetic retinopathy remains the leading vascular-associated cause of blindness throughout the world. Its treatment requires a multidisciplinary interventional approach at both systemic and local levels. Current management includes laser photocoagulation, intravitreal steroids, and anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) treatment along with systemic blood sugar control. Anti-VEGF therap...
متن کاملAssociation between diabetic retinopathy and hemoglobin level
Background: Anemia may be considered to be an independent risk factor for the development of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in patients with renal failure. The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between blood hemoglobin level and retinopathy in diabetic patients with normal renal function tests. Methods: From 2009 to 2011, 1100 diabetic patients underwent retinal examination. Am...
متن کاملVEGF localisation in diabetic retinopathy.
AIM To determine the staining pattern of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) at different stages of diabetic retinopathy (including post-laser photocoagulation) and to compare staining in excised fibrovascular and fibrocellular (non-diabetic) preretinal membranes. METHODS Immunohistochemical localisation of VEGF, using antibodies raised against VEGF165 and VEGF121,165,189, was carried o...
