Has the Decline in Trade Policy Uncertainty Promoted China’s Agricultural Exports?

This article describes China’s entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) as a quasi-natural experiment based on samples from Bank database, China Customs and Industrial Enterprise Database 2000 to 2007 uses difference-in-difference (DID) method investigate effect of trade policy uncertainty (TPU) agricultural exports. The study found that, first, decline in TPU significantly increases export volume Chinese firms. Second, boosts companies engaged general trade. Regarding destination countries, promotes firms whose countries are developing countries. firms’ ownership, promotion exports by non-state-owned enterprises (non-SOEs) Hong Kong-, Macao- Taiwan-funded is even more pronounced. Third, alleviating their financing constraints. provides new explanations for changes enriches research evaluation effects.
