چکیده
We systematically investigated iodine–metal and iodine–iodine bonding in van Koten’s pincer complex 19 modifications changing substituents and/or the transition metal with a PBE0–D3(BJ)/aug–cc–pVTZ/PP(M,I) model chemistry. As novel tool for quantitative assessment of bond strength these complexes we used local mode analysis, originally introduced by Konkoli Cremer, complemented NBO Bader’s QTAIM analyses. Our study reveals major electronic effects catalytic activity M–I–I non-classical three-center complex, which is involved oxidative addition molecular iodine I2 to center. According our investigations charge transfer from σ* antibonding orbital I–I changes 3c–4e character bond, leads weakening strengthening metal–iodine M–I facilitating this way metal. The can be modified substitution at different places metals, both bonds. also modeled original how solvents polarity influence bond. results provide new guidelines design specific strengths introduce vibrational analysis as an efficient assess complexes.

Halogen bonding in halocarbon-protein complexes
Halogen bonding (XB) has been extensively described in the context of a variety of self-assembled supramolecular materials with specific structural properties. However, it has so far received only little recognition for its possible role in the stabilization of the interactions between small chemicals and large biomolecules. Here, we provide three examples of halogen bonding occurring between s...
متن کاملChemical bonding in transition metal carbene complexes q
In this work, we summarize recent theoretical studies of our groups in which modern quantum chemical methods are used to gain insight into the nature of metal–ligand interactions in Fischerand Schrock-type carbene complexes. It is shown that with the help of chargeand energy-partitioning techniques it is possible to build a bridge between heuristic bonding models and the physical mechanism whic...

A chiral organic conductor with metallic conductivity has been obtained by electrocrystallisation of a diiodotetrathiafulvalene derivative and enantiopure D-camphorsulfonate anion, associated in the solid state by halogen bonding interactions.

The behavior of a sterically crowded neutral pincer {2,6-bis[(di-t-butylphosphino)methyl]-phenyl}palladium (PCPPd) halides, PCPPdX (X = Cl, Br or I), as XB acceptors with strong halogen bond (XB) donors, iodine (I(2)), 1,4-diiodotetrafluorobenzene (F4DIBz), and 1,4-diiodooctafluorobutane (F8DIBu) were studied in the solid state. The co-crystallization experiments afforded high-quality single cr...
متن کاملA Density Functional Theory Investigation of d8 Transition Metal(II) (Ni, Pd, Pt) Chloride Complexes of Some Vic-dioximes Derivatives
Herein, a theoretical study on the stability of some vic-dioxime complexes of Ni(II), Pd(II) and Pt(II) in gas and aqueous phases is reported. The DFT/M06/SDD and DFT/M06/6-31G+(d,p) levels of theory were adopted for the metal ions and for every other element respectively. Structural analyses of investigated complexes have revealed square planar geometries stabilized by two O–H⋯Cl hydrogen bond...
