Halogen-Bonded Cocrystals of 1,3,5-Triiodo-2,4,6-trifluorobenzene and Structural Isomers of Benzoylpyridine

چکیده
Six novel halogen-bonded cocrystals of 1,3,5-triiodo-2,4,6-trifluorobenzene with three structural isomers benzoylpyridine have been synthesized mechanochemically and by crystallization from solution, five which were structurally characterized. In four cocrystals, is a ditopic halogen-bond acceptor participating in halogen bonding both pyridine nitrogen carbonyl oxygen atoms, while one cocrystal, only the I···N bond has formed. general, bonds are shorter than I···O interactions, except 2-benzoylpyridine. The N O sites evaluated using calculated molecular electrostatic potentials (MEPs) binding energies dimers gas phase.

Structural Examination of Halogen-Bonded Co-Crystals of Tritopic Acceptors.
A series of tritopic N-heterocyclic compounds containing electrostatically and geometrically equivalent binding sites were synthesized and subjected to systematic co-crystallizations with selected perfluoroiodoarenes in order to map out their structural landscapes. More than 70% of the attempted reactions produced a co-crystal as indicated by IR spectroscopy. Four new crystal structures are rep...

A graded selection of hydrogen bonds and halogen bonds allows for the isolation of 2 : 1 : 1 ternary cocrystals of the general form 4-nitrobenzamide : diacid : 1,4-dihalogenated benzene, which are mediated by the amide-acid and I···O2N supramolecular synthons.
متن کاملHalogen-bonded solvates of tetrahaloethynyl cavitands†
Halogen bonding (XB) has been receiving considerably increasing attention as it provides a complementary interaction to hydrogen bonding (HB). XB has been proven to play crucial roles in supramolecular chemistry, nanoscience, biosystems, and functional materials. Its directionality and tunability make XB an important noncovalent interaction, geometrically and thermodynamically, similar to HB; h...

The first examples of halogen bonded analogues of deep cavity cavitands with guest binding properties, formed between N-alkyl ammonium resorcinarene halides as acceptors and bromotrichloromethane as the donor, are reported in the solid state and in solution.
