چکیده
Abstract Background Common bean ( Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is an important legume species which can be consumed as immature pods and dry seeds after re-hydration cooking. Many genes QTL, epistatic interactions among them, condition pod morphological traits. However, not all them have been mapped or validated nor candidate proposed. We sought to investigate the genomic regions conditioning color characters through GWAS. Results Single multi-locus genome wide association analysis was used traits for a set of 301 lines Spanish Diversity Panel (SDP). The SDP genotyped with 32,812 SNPs obtained from Genotyping by Sequencing. panel grown in two seasons phenotypic data were recorded 17 fresh grouped four characters: length, cross-section, color, number per pod. In all, 23 QTL 6 18 9 associated more detected. Most located telomeric region chromosomes Pv01, Pv02, Pv04, Pv08, Pv09 Pv10. Eighteen detected co-localized 28 previously reported QTL. Twenty-one potential involving developmental processes underlying 11 characters, homologous A. thaliana FIS 2, SPL10 , TTG2 AML4 affecting silique size. Eight involved pigment synthesis, found five color. Conclusions GWAS revealed 62 16 underlain 25 genes. Overall 44 new identified existing contribute better understanding complex inheritance size common open opportunity future validation works.

The morphological and biochemical effect of phosphate deficiency on different cultivars of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris)
Phosphorus is an essential nutrient for plant growth and productivity. Since agricultural soils in Iran are predominantly calcareous with very low available Pi content, Pi deficiency has been considered to be a major nutritional constraint for crop production, thus, the application of Pi-fertilizers is essential for satisfactory crop production. The application of Pi-fertilizers contaminates so...
متن کاملMorphological and physiological responses of two common bean cultivars to drought stress
Drought stress is the major problem in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. Investigating the response of different cultivars of crop plants to drought stress can help to select the tolerant ones for agriculture in arid lands. In this study, a greenhouse experiment was conducted as a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with two common bean cultivars (Phaseolus vulgari...
متن کاملDifferences in antioxidant, morphological and biochemical responses to drought stress in different cultivars of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
Drought stress is the most common environmental stress that can significantly influence crop productivity. In this study, morphological and biochemical properties of 17 genotypes of common bean were evaluated under different levels of drought stress and the most sensitive and tolerant genotypes were identified using multivariate analysis. The results indicated that morphological and biochemical...
متن کاملRelating Objective and Subjective Ratings of Snap Bean Pod Color to Likelihood of Purchase
Snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) cultivars with pods representing a range of greenness were grown in Oklahoma field trials in 2001 and 2004. Objective color evaluations (L* value and hue angle) performed on raw and cooked pod samples from 10 (2001) or 12 (2004) of these cultivars indicated that color testing of raw snap bean pods may not be sufficient to determine the color after cooking. Alth...
متن کاملA Comprehensive Phenotypic Investigation of the “Pod-Shattering Syndrome” in Common Bean
Seed shattering in crops is a key domestication trait due to its relevance for seed dispersal, yield, and fundamental questions in evolution (e.g., convergent evolution). Here, we focused on pod shattering in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), the most important legume crop for human consuption in the world. With this main aim, we developed a methodological pipeline that comprises a thorough ...
