Guest Editorial: Massive Machine-Type Communications for IoT
نویسندگان
چکیده
Future wireless cellular networks are envisioned to not only enhance broadband access for human-centric applications, but also offer massive connectivity across tens of billions devices machine-centric applications empowered by Internet Things (IoT) technologies (e.g., smart factory and city). To embrace the forthcoming era IoT, fifth-generation (5G) communication standard has already identified machine-type communications (mMTC) as a key use case in future networks. Contrary human-type high-speed communications, focus IoT is on providing with high energy efficiency, low latency, reliability. Consequently, 5G beyond call radically innovative solutions support mMTC. Motivated crucial role mMTC dramatically new challenges arising from compared communication, this Feature Topic aims bring together researchers, industry practitioners, individuals working related areas share their ideas, latest findings, state-of-the-art results.
