چکیده
This study evaluates the growth performance, body linear parameters and egg quality of Yoruba ecotype chicken their F1 F2 crosses using Lohmann brown cocks under a low-input management system. Ten were mated with thirty indigenous hens to obtain progenies. also back Also, ten male 30 female as basis for comparison. Mating was done at 1:3 in all groups. Incubation hatching naturally properly monitored. After hatching, chicks intensively managed 8 weeks wooden cages, after which transferred battery where they raised till maturity. Initial weight 24 weeks, average daily feed intake, initial laying first recorded appropriately, while (shank length, comb keel beak neck length drumstick) measured standard procedures. Some selected included weight, breadth, shell albumen weight. Weight significantly (P < 0.05) higher birds than birds, had values compared birds. The thickness, height, yolk showed that progenies performed better growth, chicken. It can, therefore, be concluded crossbreeding breed is beneficial improving performance parameters, thereby enhancing productivity.

Transferrin Genetic Types in Fulani and Yoruba Ecotype of Nigeria Indigenous Chickens
Fulani ecotype chickens (FEC) and Yoruba ecotype chickens (YEC) are the two major types of indigenous chickens in Nigeria. They subsist under traditional Animal husbandry and are thus liable to indiscriminate mating and consequently to loss of genetic diversity. Fulani ecotype chickens (FEC) and Yoruba ecotype chickens (YEC) were investigated to determine genetic variation at transferrin locus ...

The present study was conducted to determine egg production traits and egg quality characteristics in black and brown lines of Japanese quail. They were grouped in according to their plumage colours. Age at first egg-laying has been re...

Indigenous Tswana chickens are better adapted to prevailing environmental conditions and diseases than their exotic counterparts. They however exhibit slower growth rate and less mature final weight than their exotic counterparts. Crossbreeding of indigenous Tswana chickens with exotic chicken breeds can therefore be used as an alternative strategy to improve growth performance of indigenous Ts...
متن کاملAssociation between Motilin Receptor Gene Haplotypes and Growth Traits in Japanese Hinai-dori Crossbred Chickens
We previously identified quantitative trait loci (QTL) for body weight and average daily gain in a common region between ADL0198 (chr 1: 171.7 Mb) and ABR0287 (chr 1: 173.4 Mb) on chicken chromosome 1 in an F2 resource population produced by crossing low- and high-growth lines of the Hinai-dori breed. Motilin receptor (MLNR) is a candidate gene affecting growth traits in the region. In this stu...
