چکیده

A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) seasons of 2015–16 and 2016–17 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, to study effect staggered sowing on growth indices, photosynthetic parameters productivity barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) in relation different cutting management. The laid out a split-plot design with 3 dates, viz. 15 October, 30 October November main plots 5 management, un-cut (control), cut 50 days after (DAS), 60 DAS, DAS + additional kg N/ha (N15) (N15)] subplots, replicated 4 times. results indicated that, crop sown registered highest values absolute rate (AGR) (CGR) up 120 crop-growth. Thereafter, showed higher AGR CGR than that October. Relative (RGR) days; thereafter. Fodder N15 treatments resulted negative AGR, RGR 30–60 DAS. Transpiration stomatal conductance decreased significantly progressively each delay sowing. Uncut recorded transpiration (0.53 m mol/m2 /sec), whereas lowest (0.26 /sec). Crop 11.9 47.9% more grain yield 18.3 25.2% fodder November, respectively. Control for gave similar yields, but were other cutting-management treatments.

Evaluation of Drought Stress Indices in barley ( Hordeum vulgare L . )

In order to evaluation of drought resistant indices in barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), 10 barley genotypes evaluated in Completely Randomized Design with three Replications in two conditions, (under drought stress and in normal with irrigation in planting, flowering and grain filling stages) in Islamic Azad University, Miyaneh Branch Research Farm in 2012. Drought tolerant indices basis of yield p...

Lysine Catabolism in Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.).

Lysine catabolism in seedlings of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. var. Emir) was studied by direct injection of the following tracers into the endosperm of the seedlings: aspartic acid-3-(14)C, 2-aminoadipic acid-1-(14)C, saccharopine-(14)C, 2,6-diaminopimelic acid-1-(7)-(14)C, and lysine-1-(14)C. Labeled saccharopine was formed only after the administration of either labeled 2,6-diaminopimelic acid...

Allelopathic Plants. 19. Barley (Hordeum vulgare L)

Barley is integrated with other crops to inhibit weed growth, through allelopathic interactions. Effects of barley on growth of other crops, weeds and autotoxicity among cultivars result primarily from allelopathy mediated by allelochemicals released from plant components and/or exuded from living roots. A limited number of allelochemicals are identified that contributes to allelopathic effecti...

On the origin and domestication history of Barley (Hordeum vulgare).

Remains of barley (Hordeum vulgare) grains found at archaeological sites in the Fertile Crescent indicate that about 10,000 years ago the crop was domesticated there from its wild relative Hordeum spontaneum. The domestication history of barley is revisited based on the assumptions that DNA markers effectively measure genetic distances and that wild populations are genetically different and the...

Evaluation of drought tolerance indices for the selection of Iranian barley (Hordeum vulgare) cultivars

Drought is an important factor limiting crop production in arid and semi-arid conditions. Drought indices which provide a measure of drought based on yield loss under drought condition in comparison to normal condition was used for screening drought-tolerant genotypes. This study was conducted to determine drought tolerant genotypes with high yield in stress and non-stress conditions. Ten barle...
