Growth, Gas Exchange, and Boron Distribution Characteristics in Two Grape Species Plants under Boron Deficiency Condition

چکیده
The boron (B) deficiency tolerance capacity of two grape materials, ‘Xishui-4’ (Vitis flexuosa) and ‘Crystal’ (V. vinifera × V. labrusca), were evaluated using a potted experiment in order to identify the B-use efficiency screen B-efficient resources. sterile lines genotypes used as test large number test-tube seedlings obtained through rapid propagation. acclimatization transplanted, tested treated with B stress after survival. In this experiment, materials cultured nutrient solution, which contained 0.00 (B0), 0.25 (B1), 0.50 (control) mg·L?1 concentrations, vitro. results counted 60 days culture. showed that significantly reduced growth parameters such plant height, leaf area, total root length, dry biomass genotypes, inhibition was greater than ‘Xishui-4’. Moreover, also affected photosynthesis decreased photosynthetic pigments, net rate, transpiration stomatal conductance, intercellular carbon dioxide concentration, density. Interestingly, decrease ranges those ‘Xishui-4’, indicating more susceptible deficiency. Under control condition, concentration accumulation higher However, under condition deficiency, amount, utilization index, index ‘Crystal’, transport stable, had better against B-deficient did. Therefore, is strong adaptability stress, can be efficient resources genetic improvement grape.

Boron in plants: deficiency and toxicity.
Boron (B) is an essential nutrient for normal growth of higher plants, and B availability in soil and irrigation water is an important determinant of agricultural production. To date, a primordial function of B is undoubtedly its structural role in the cell wall; however, there is increasing evidence for a possible role of B in other processes such as the maintenance of plasma membrane function...
متن کاملBoron deficiency in woody plants: various responses and tolerance mechanisms
Boron (B) is an essential microelement for higher plants, and its deficiency is widespread around the world and constrains the productivity of both agriculture and forestry. In the last two decades, numerous studies on model or herbaceous plants have contributed greatly to our understanding of the complex network of B-deficiency responses and mechanisms for tolerance. In woody plants, however, ...
متن کاملBoron Distribution and the Effect of Lime on Boron Uptake by Pansy, Petunia and Gerbera Plants
Reports of boron (B) deficiency have become more prevalent in pansy (Viola ×wittrockiana), petunia (Petunia ×hybrida), and gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii) plug production. When symptoms are observed in production the presence and severity of symptoms have no obvious pattern; symptomatic plants can be located adjacent to asymptomatic plants in the same plug flat. The availability of B in the soil de...
متن کاملBoron deficiency in pastures and field crops
Boron deficiency was first recorded in Australia in the 1930s in apple trees growing in Tasmania and New South Wales. Subsequently the deficiency was found in a wide range of pasture and crop plants. Crops with higher boron requirements such as lucerne, sunflowers, rapeseed, cauliflower and apples are most likely to respond to boron. Pine trees, which are commonly used in tree lots and as windb...
