چکیده
Abstract Groundwater quality assessment for pollution can be undertaken with the use of indicators that will confirm or deny negative impact potential sources. Based on water monitoring data from Lipówka I and II municipal landfill sites in Dąbrowa Górnicza last five years, area was assessed using Nemerow Pollution Index (NPI) method. Seven parameters were – pH, electrical conductivity, concentrations chlorides, sulphates, ammonium ions, boron iron. The limits class III used as reference level. results NPI calculations show highest indices obtained piezometers PZ5 T5 located outflow site. values index ions reached a value over 36 piezometer 17 piezometer. other did not indicate significant groundwater. observed 2017. It is worth noting that, apart large differences content conductivity specifically are twice high four times higher than boron. useful easy method assessing even small number parameters.

Sanitary Quality of Soil in and near Municipal Waste Landfill Sites
The present study was aimed at determining the relationship between the operation of municipal landfills and the fluctuations of bacterial indicators of the sanitary quality of soil. Soil samples were collected at monthly intervals from May 2010 to April 2011 at ten sampling sites located on the premises and in vicinity of the reclaimed Municipal Landfill Site (MLS) and the new Municipal Solid ...
متن کاملGeotechnical hazards associated with closed municipal solid waste landfill sites
As pressure for new infrastructure and development grows, it is inevitable that building projects will encounter some of the c20,000 closed former solid waste landfills in the UK, many of which will have accepted municipal solid wastes (MSW). Construction on or across these sites brings a special set of geohazards associated with the potential for large and difficult to predict settlements, gas...
متن کاملGroundwater Pollution by Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Leachate: A Case Study of Okhla Landfill Delhi
The large number of municipal solid waste (MSW) landfills and the many hazardous materials which they contain pose a serious threat to both surrounding environment and human populations. Once waste is deposited at the landfill, pollution can arise from the percolation of leachate to the porous ground surface. Contamination of groundwater by such leachate renders it and the associated aquifer un...

Background: The purpose of this study is to investigate the concentration of metals (lead, cadmium, chromium, copper, and nickel) in the landfill leachate and heavy metals in wells downstream of municipal solid waste landfill site in the city of Mashhad. Methods: In both winter and summer seasons in 2009 samples were collected from five wells that were in landfill downstream in Mashhad. Resul...
متن کاملAssessment of Contamination Potential of Leachate from Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Sites for Metropolitan Cities in India
With increased population, rapid industrialization and life style changes, the characteristics and the rates of solid waste generation have gone under drastic change in India. Generally, in India, management of solid waste landfill is of major concern with respect to the existing circumstances. The illegal dumping of municipal solid waste on the outskirts of cities is creating major environment...
