Ground deformation monitoring of the eruption offshore Mayotte

چکیده

In May 2018, the Mayotte island, located in Indian Ocean, was affected by an unprecedented seismic crisis, followed anomalous on-land surface displacements July 2018. Cumulatively from 1, 2018 to December 31, 2021, horizontal were approximately 21 25 cm eastward, and subsidence 10 19 cm. The study of data recorded GNSS network, their modeling coupled with ocean bottom pressure gauges, allowed us propose a magmatic origin crisis deflation deep source east Mayotte, that confirmed 2019 discovery submarine eruption, 50 km offshore ([Feuillet et al., 2021]). Despite non-optimal network geometry receivers far source, following dynamics magma transfer, via volume flow monitoring, throughout eruption. Evaluating the deformation monitoring capability of a ground based SAR system with MIMO antenna

By increasing the applicability of ground-based SAR (GBSAR) systems in geoscience and remote sensing, the development and evaluation of new systems have gained attention. GBSAR systems can be utilized for monitoring areas that are hard to or cannot be seen by the airborne or spaceborne systems. Furthermore, they have better spatial and temporal resolutions and are cost-effective and easy to imp...

Geodetic network design for InSAR: Application to ground deformation monitoring

We propose a novel geodetic network design method for InSAR that determines the minimum number and optimal locations of in situ devices for monitoring a deforming area within desired quality constraints (precision, reliability, economy). From field experiments, the use of low-cost active radar transponders has been validated, and their measurement precision estimated. The proposed design algori...
