GRIN pad polishing

چکیده
A new concept for CNC polishing pads is given by the gradient index (GRIN) pad tools. Instead of gluing foils as a layer onto metallic tool holders that have spherical surface to be polished, 3D-printed GRIN are applied directly axis.

Pad conditioning in chemical mechanical polishing: a conditioning density distribution model to predict pad surface shape
Abstract: Diamond disc pad conditioning is traditionally employed to restore pad planarity and surface roughness in chemical mechanical polishing (or planarisation) (CMP). In this paper, a conditioning density distribution model is developed to predict the pad surface shape resulted from the diamond disc conditioning in CMP. A kinematic study is carried out to calculate and simulate the diamond...
متن کاملCharacterization of Pad Materials in Abrasive Profile Polishing
INTRODUCTION Hard and temperature resistant materials are used for mold manufacturing of optical glass lenses. These materials are not machinable by ultra precision diamond milling and turning processes. For example hardened steel or tungsten carbide can be ground in optical quality regarding shape but additional polishing is necessary to guarantee the high requirements for optical surface qual...

We investigated the role of a single nucleotide polymorphism rs3764030 (G>A) within the human GRIN2B promoter in mental processing speed in healthy, cognitively intact, older adults. In vitro DNA‐binding and reporter gene assays of different allele combinations in transfected cells showed that the A allele was a gain‐of‐function variant associated with increasing GRIN2B mRNA leve...
متن کاملBiomimetic Gradient Index (GRIN) Lenses
A new class of hierarchically structured polymer optical materials possessing an internal refractive index gradient that mimics biological optical materials is described. The new materials permit the fabrication of gradient refractive index (GRIN) lenses with an unprecedented variety of index gradients. Gradients with different functional forms in both the radial and axial directions have been ...
