Green Methane as a Future Fuel for Light-Duty Vehicles
نویسندگان
چکیده
Food waste (FW) has traditionally been disposed by incineration or landfilling; however, it can be converted to green methane (GM) via anaerobic digestion, and GM used as fuel for light-duty natural gas vehicles (LDNGVs). A lifecycle assessment (LCA) of FW-based production LDNGV operation in China, a new scenario, was performed. The LCA results were compared with those the conventional FW treatment, where “well-to-wheel” system boundary including collection, from FW, vehicle manufacturing, operation, disposal defined. showed that global warming impacts scenario are 44.3% lower than option. fine particulate matter formation impact dominated displacement effect electricity supply followed CO2 adsorption primary source. sensitivity analysis hydroelectric power best source could substantially reduce both FRS scenario. In short term, proposed feasible option achieving sustainable society minimizing environmental treatment.

Selective Catalytic Reduction for Heavy-duty and Light-duty Vehicles
Whereas previous emission limit values could be met by primary engine control measures, the limits for PM and NOx from heavy duty engines in 2008/09 (Euro V) and diesel passenger cars in 2014/15 (Euro 6) represent a challenge for the developers of diesel engines and vehicles. Due to the thermodynamics of the Diesel combustion process, it is difficult to optimise the combustion process for both ...

Based on an analysis of several case studies of alternative fuel introductions [ethanol, biodiesel, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), compressed natural gas (CNG)], requirements for alternative fuels, vehicles, and the fueling infrastructure are postulated that are necessary for successful market implementation. Affordable vehicle technology and costcompetitive fuel were identified as the most cri...
متن کاملMicroscopic Emission and Fuel Consumption Modeling for Light-duty Vehicles Using Portable Emission Measurement System Data
Microscopic emission and fuel consumption models have been widely recognized as an effective method to quantify real traffic emission and energy consumption when they are applied with microscopic traffic simulation models. This paper presents a framework for developing the Microscopic Emission (HC, CO, NOx, and CO2) and Fuel consumption (MEF) models for light-duty vehicles. The variable of comp...

Starting from the premise that new consumer value must drive hydrogen-fuel-cell-vehicle (H2FCV) commercialization, a group of opportunities ollectively called “Mobile Electricity” is characterized. Mobile Electricity (Me-) redefines H2FCVs as innovative products able to import and xport electricity across the traditional vehicle boundary. Such vehicles could provide home recharging and mobile p...
متن کاملFuel Consumption Optimization of Heavy-duty Vehicles: an Analytical Approach
In this paper, we establish a mathematical framework that allows us to optimize the speed profile and select the optimal gears for heavy-duty vehicles. The key idea is to solve the analogous boundary value problem analytically for a simple scenario (linear damped system with quadratic elevation profile) and use this result to initialize a numerical continuation algorithm. Then the numerical alg...
