Great Yorkshire Livestock Show Attendees’ Attitudes about Agriculture

The purpose of our research was to determine if attending a U.K. livestock show changed attendees’ attitudes about agriculture and compare those changes in attendees U.S. state fair similar size dynamic. sample at the Great Yorkshire Show (GYS). mixed-method design included then now semantic differential scale with bipolar adjective pairs measure before after experience qualitative interviews photo elicitation learn how developed agriculture. Participants had positive they attended more attending. than did California State Fair attendees. In addition, participants lacked prior experiences agriculture, but GYS provided them opportunity develop through cognitive, behavioral, environmental factors. attendance should be promoted because provide unique opportunities for experiential learning fairs adopt tactics used GYS. Further is needed better understand what elements were most influential attitude development.
