Grazing Effects on Seedling Emergence in Contrasting Wet and Dry Year in a Semiarid Grassland

چکیده

Seedlings are a crucial part of the plant community and basis vegetation restoration regeneration. Grazing climate change two main factors contributing to changes in semiarid grasslands. However, effects grazing on seedling emergence with rainfall variation not clearly understood. This study aimed address how abundance dynamics annuals respond different years. We conducted investigation experiment grassland along intensity gradient (light grazing—LG; moderate grazing—MG; heavy grazing—HG) contrasting wet dry The results showed that MG increased richness grasses forbs year, but increasing resulted decline forb year. Seedling was enhanced under MG, while higher HG. monthly were generally single peak pattern, time for advanced whole year much Our suggest more judicious management based functional composition should be undertaken facilitate restoration.

Contrasting effects of elevated CO2 and warming on nitrogen cycling in a semiarid grassland.

SUMMARY *Simulation models indicate that the nitrogen (N) cycle plays a key role in how other ecosystem processes such as plant productivity and carbon (C) sequestration respond to elevated CO(2) and warming. However, combined effects of elevated CO(2) and warming on N cycling have rarely been tested in the field. *Here, we studied N cycling under ambient and elevated CO(2) concentrations (600 ...

critical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...

on translation of politeness strategies in dialogues involving female characters in translations and retranslations of novels translated before and after the islamic revolution of iran and their effects on the image of women: a polysystem theory approach

abstract reception environment has considerable effects on accepting a translation. as the expectations of a target culture and its values and needs change throughout history, its criteria for accepting a translation or rejecting it will change accordingly (gentzler, 2001). the expectations of iran, as the reception environment in the present study, have changed after the islamic revolution. i...

a study on rate making and required reserves determination in reinsurance market: a simulation

reinsurance is widely recognized as an important instrument in the capital management of an insurance company as well as its risk management tool. this thesis is intended to determine premium rates for different types of reinsurance policies. also, given the fact that the reinsurance coverage of every company depends upon its reserves, so different types of reserves and the method of their calc...

Ecosystem Carbon and Nitrogen Accumulation after Grazing Exclusion in Semiarid Grassland

The grazing exclusion in degraded grassland has been extensively used to prevent the loss of grassland resources and to improve grassland services. The effects of grazing exclusion on C and N balance, however, have not been well addressed but are essential for assessing grassland C sinks, the sustainable use of grassland resources and the support of grassland services. To understand the respons...
