Graphene Embedded with Transition Metals for Capturing Carbon Dioxide: Gas Detection Study Using QM Methods

چکیده

Carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption on decorated graphene (GR) sheets with transition metals (TMs) including iron, nickel and zinc was investigated for removing this hazardous gas from the environment. TM-doped GR results in higher activity toward detecting than pristine nanosheets. TM embedding restrains hydrogen evolution C sites, leaving more available sites a CO2 decrease. The Langmuir model ONIOM using CAM-B3LYP functional LANL2DZ 6-31+G (d,p) basis sets due to Gaussian 16 revision C.01 program complexes of CO2?(Fe, Ni, Zn) embedded accomplished. changes charge density illustrated considerable transfer Zn-embedded GR. thermodynamic IR spectroscopy indicated that ?Gads,CO2?Zn@C?GRo has notable gap Gibbs free energy dipole moment which defines alterations between initial compounds (?GCO2 o ?GZn@C?GRo) product compound (?GCO2?Zn@C?GRo) through polarizability. Frontier molecular orbital band gaps accompanying some chemical reactivity parameters represented behavior electrical transport (Fe, molecules. Our have provided favorable understanding interaction TM-embedded nanosheets CO2.

Capturing carbon dioxide as a polymer from natural gas

Natural gas is considered the cleanest and recently the most abundant fossil fuel source, yet when it is extracted from wells, it often contains 10-20 mol% carbon dioxide (20-40 wt%), which is generally vented to the atmosphere. Efforts are underway to contain this carbon dioxide at the well-head using inexpensive and non-corrosive methods. Here we report nucleophilic porous carbons are synthes...

ZnO nanostructures of different methods and sizes were grown in a controlled manner using a simple hydrothermal and sonochemical technique. Controlling the content of concentration and temperature of the reaction mixture, spherical nanoparticles ZnO structures could be synthesized at temperatures 100-150 °C with excellent reproducibility in solvothermal and at different power and time in sonoch...

Capturing Carbon Dioxide From Air

The goal of carbon sequestration is to take CO2 that would otherwise accumulate in the atmosphere and put it in safe and permanent storage. Most proposed methods would capture CO2 from concentrated sources like power plants. Indeed, on-site capture is the most sensible approach for large sources and initially offers the most cost-effective avenue to sequestration. For distributed, mobile source...

Fluorescent chemosensor for detection and quantitation of carbon dioxide gas.

CO(2) sensing is of great societal implications, as CO(2) is a component of gas mixtures from many natural and anthropogenic processes with huge impacts on globe climate and human well-being. Herein we report a CO(2) assay scheme over a wide concentration range, utilizing a fluorogen with an aggregation-induced emission feature and a liquid with tunable polarity and viscosity. The CO(2) sensing...
