Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Is Involved in the Tolerance of Soybean Seedlings to Low Nitrogen Stress

چکیده
Nitrogen (N) deficiency affects plant growth and crop yield. In this study, we investigated the role of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) in response to N availability three soybean cultivars, JINDOU 19 (JD19), LONGHUANG 3 (LH3), LONGDOU 2 (LD2), that have different tolerances low-N stress. The results showed leaf area primary root length JD19 LH3 were greater than LD2 under stress, suggesting impaired less LD2, thus are more tolerant stress is. Interestingly, G6PDH expression degrees change these cultivars conditions, activity was higher LD2. When inhibited by glucosamine (GlcN), contents malondialdehyde (MDA) H2O2 dramatically increased Meanwhile, activities metabolism-related enzymes inhibited. These indicate is involved tolerance through affecting metabolism. Furthermore, NADP+ reduced glutathione (GSH) contrast, plasma membrane (PM), NADPH oxidase, content lower conclusion, reduces accumulation ROS cells modulating NADPH/NADP+ GSH levels maintain soybeans conditions.

Protective Effect of Quercetin on Oxidative Stress in Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase-Deficient Erythrocytes in Vitro
Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficient subjects are vulnerable to oxidative stress. Quercetin, a flavonoids, has been employed as a potent oxygen-free radical scavenger in order to assess the protective effects of quercetin against H2O2-induced oxidative damage in G6PD-deficient and normal human erythrocytes. Erythrocytes of G6PD-deficient (n = 10) and normal (n = 10) subjects were ...

متن کاملIsoenzyme replacement of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase in the cytosol improves stress tolerance in plants.
In source leaves of resistant tobacco, oxidative burst and subsequent formation of hypersensitive lesions after infection with Phytophthora nicotianae was prevented by inhibition of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) or NADPH oxidases. This observation indicated that plant defense could benefit from improved NADPH availability due to increased G6PDH activity in the cytosol. A plastidic i...

Description Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency is the most common human enzyme deficiency that mainly affects the red blood cells (RBCs). A defect in G6PD enzyme leads to the destruction of premature RBCs causing hemolytic anemia because the body can not compensate the destroyed RBCs. Thus, the affected individuals show jaundice (paleness, yellowing of the skin and whites of th...

Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH; EC 1.1.1.49) is well-known as the main regulatory enzyme of the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (OPPP) in living organisms. Namely, in Planta, different G6PDH isoforms may occur, generally localized in cytosol and plastids/chloroplasts. These enzymes are differently regulated by distinct mechanisms, still far from being defined in detail. In the las...
