Global polarization of ? and ? hyperons has been measured for the first time in Au+Au collisions at sNN=200 GeV. The measurements ?? ?¯+ hyperon have performed by two independent methods, via analysis angular distribution daughter particles parity violating weak decay ???+?, as well measuring ? hyperon, polarized transfer from its parent. polarization, obtained combining results methods averaged over ?¯+, is to be ?P??=0.47±0.10(stat)±0.23(syst)% collision centrality 20%–80%. ?P?? found slightly larger than inclusive reasonable agreement with a multiphase transport model. follow dependence vorticity predicted model, increasing toward more peripheral collisions. global ?, ?P??=1.11±0.87(stat)±1.97(syst)% was ???+K, assuming factor C??=1.Received 25 December 2020Accepted 1 April 2021DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevLett.126.162301© 2021 American Physical SocietyPhysics Subject Headings (PhySH)Research AreasPolarization phenomenaRelativistic heavy-ion collisionsNuclear Physics
