Glitches in the technonatural present

Ecological collapse and the proliferation of digitally mediated relations are two conjoined elements ‘technonatural present’, which pose varied challenges openings for future geographical thought praxis beyond delineated sub-disciplinary concerns more-than-human digital geographies. In this commentary, we draw attention to inseparability, now into future, from mediation. This mediation is also central forms encounter, exploitation, governance shaping human-nonhuman relations. Within complex nexus humans, nonhumans, environments, technologies, it crucial critically examine how nature made (mediated) remade (remediated), by whom, with whom. We call research that affirmatively centres potentials progressive digitally-mediated environmentalisms, drawing Agnieszka Leszczynski Sarah Elwood's work on ‘glitch epistemologies’. To conclude, point a series themes questions geographers might usefully engage as they navigate (re)mediated catastrophic times.
