چکیده

The Aladağlar is a mountain range located in the central Taurus Mountains (37°45′ N, 35°15′ E) along Mediterranean coast of Turkey, dominated by geomorphic features intervened karstic and glacial landscapes. Aladağlar, also known as Alps one most popular places for mountaineering. Here, we present comprehensive geomorphological map mountain. Despite increased recent research, understanding spatial distribution landforms still poorly known. To provide framework future 1:50,000-scale map, covering an area ∼1200 km2. Our based on remote sensing detailed field observations imprints erosional depositional landforms, such valleys, cirques, arêtes, horns, debris-covered glaciers, moraines outwash fans. could be used base dating glacier reconstructions efforts.

Deglacial history of the Pensacola Mountains, Antarctica from glacial geomorphology and cosmogenic nuclide surface exposure dating

The retreat history of the Antarctic Ice Sheet is important for understanding rapid deglaciation, as well as to constrain numerical ice sheet models and ice loading models required for glacial isostatic adjustment modelling. There is particular debate about the extent of grounded ice in the Weddell Sea embayment at the Last Glacial Maximum, and its subsequent deglacial history. Here we provide ...

Taphonomy and palaeoecology of Late Triassic (Carnian) ammonoid concentrations from the Taurus Mountains, Turkey

The deposits of the Carnian Kasımlar Formation within the Taurus Platform Units of south-western Turkey represent an important archive of a Late Triassic ecosystem. New palaeontological information was obtained by analysing the Kasimlarceltites mass occurrence, located within the Kasımlar Formation and named after the Lower Carnian (Julian) ammonoid genus Kasimlarceltites. This is the dominant ...

Glacial geomorphology of the Central Arctic Ocean: the Chukchi Borderland and the Lomonosov Ridge

The last decade of geophysical seafloor mapping in the Arctic Ocean from nuclear submarines and icebreakers reveals a wide variety of glaciogenic geomorphic features at water depths reaching 1000 m. These findings provide new and intriguing insights into the Quaternary glacial history of the Northern Hemisphere. Here we integrate multiand single beam bathymetric data, chirp sonar profiles and s...

Glacial Geology of the Southern Uinta Mountains

It has been known for over a century that the Uinta Mountains contained numerous alpine glaciers during parts of the Quaternary Period, yet until recently, the glacial record on the south side of the range had received little scientifi c attention. Results of recent 1:24,000-scale fi eld mapping of surfi cial deposits in the southern Uinta Mountains indicate that glaciers in the southwestern an...

Glacial Geology of the Northern Uinta Mountains

Glacial deposits on the north slope of the Uinta Mountains were investigated through map and air photo interpretation combined with fi eld mapping. Deposits representing the Smiths Fork (local Pinedale equivalent), Blacks Fork (Bull Lake equivalent) and pre-Blacks Fork Glaciations are present in the form of terminal and lateral moraines, ground moraine, and outwash valley trains. Nineteen separ...
