GIS Based Area Appropriateness Modeling for Rural Development: A Study of Paktika Province, Afghanistan

In order to clearly determine the viability of rural development in Afghanistan's Paktika province, information on land use planning that locals may provide is collected. Spatial crucial for province Paktika's development. Effective spatial enables entities including national and state governments, business developers, communities, people avoid duplication effort. The structural basic improvements their systems have made possible.This study uses an integrated GIS-AHP model identify best growth locations. outcome demonstrates a useful tool location selection. To development, seven factors were taken into consideration: slope, road, use, river, water areas, cultivated soil. Final results indicate 13535.3 sq. km was extremely suitable, 4563.2 moderately acceptable, 889.5 marginally 348 not suitable province.
