چکیده

Metro is a rapid transit mode that helps in fast and efficient movement of the public. To make metro journey more convenient attractive, from origin to destination, accessibility must be good. In this study, tri-level analysis carried out for study area Delhi. Traffic congestion environmental condition Delhi are degrading continuously, improve situation, sustainable Multi Modal Transport System (MMTS) with high explored. paper, policy zone work purpose discussed relation between multimodal transport system studied using GIS (ArcGIS), macrosimulation software (VISUM) gravity model. It was observed by addition extension lines, greatly improved. Visualizing Accessibility with GIS

Introduction As the environmental, social, and health costs of sprawling, automobile dependent development patterns become well understood, accessibility, or walkability, becomes a significant goal of planners, policy makers, and citizens. Our current planning environment is one of auto-mobility, which has the goal of reducing the cost per mile of travel within a metropolitan area. An automobil...

Place Rank: A Flow-based Accessibility Measure

Accessibility measures the potential of opportunities for interaction. This paper proposes a new flow-based accessibility measure, “place rank” utilizing origin-destination information. Both impedance and value of opportunities are embedded in the dataset that includes origins and destination of each person utilizing the studied region. Individuals contribute to the accessibility level in their...

Accessibility Indicators for Transportation Planning Using GIS

In this paper a method to create GIS-based accessibility indicators is presented. The method allows to create person-by-person and store-by-store (disaggregate) accessibility indicators but also to derive zonal summary (aggregate) indicators that can be used in more traditional transportation planning applications. These indicators have also been used as explanatory variables in person-based tr...

Evaluating Accessibility in Crowdsourcing GIS

A recent development in Geographic Information Systems is the use of crowd-sourcing to acquire and share information that was difficult to collect, organize and update in the past. Taking into consideration that the people entering data into the system might not have geographic training, an important concern is related to accessibility. In this paper we propose an algorithm for evaluating acces...

The Effect of Metro Rail on Air Pollution in Delhi

In this paper we investigate the effect of the Delhi Metro, an intra-city mass rail transit system, on air pollution within Delhi. To identify effects on pollution, we exploit the discontinuous jumps in metro ridership, each time the network is extended. Our identifying assumption is that in the absence of the extension there would be a smooth transition in pollution levels. We find strong evid...
