Geotourism Potentials of Geosites in Durrës Municipality, Albania

Abstract Present geological and geomorphological objects are non-living features that can enhance curiosity increase the knowledge of Earth's history, through development geotourism. The municipality Durrës, located in western Albania represents an active tectonic area with numerous landforms, evidence geodiversity geoheritage. In this paper, most typical geosites identified mainly based on their scientific values as well geotourism potential. After defining 5 geosites, topographical map, we applied Geosite assessment model (GAM). GAM is widely used Europe different areas has given good results evaluation geosites. method involves only experts’ opinions, which essential for preliminary Albania. This produce main (MV) additional (AV) score, very useful preservation, conservation promotion area.
