Geometry of Generalized Virtual Polyhedra

چکیده
Partial generalizations of the theory virtual polyhedra (sometimes under different names) appeared recently in torus manifolds look very from original polyhedra. Such are based on simple arguments homotopy while is integration over Euler characteristic. We explain how these related to classical convex bodies and The paper basically contains no proofs: all proofs details can be found cited literature.

Generalized network design polyhedra
In recent years, there has been an increased literature on so-called generalized network design problems (GNDPs), such as the generalized minimum spanning tree problem and the generalized traveling salesman problem. In a GNDP, the node set of a graph is partitioned into “clusters,” and the feasible solutions must contain one node from each cluster. Up to now, the polyhedra associated with diffe...

1.1. The ideology of general position. Suppose that the outcome of some natural process, such as a physical experiment, is the graph of a function of one variable over a closed interval of finite length. One feels that such a function ought to have only finitely many roots. Can this be proved rigorously? “Classical mathematics” answers this question with an univocal “no”: for any given closed s...

Triangulated polyhedra are simpler to process than arbitrary polyhedra for many graphics operations. Algorithms that compute the boundary representation of a constructive solid geometry (csg) model, however, may perform poorly if the model involves triangulated polyhedral primitives. A new csg algorithm speciically tailored to triangulated primitives is presented. The key features of this algor...

The three families of classical groups of linear transformations (complex, orthogonal, symplectic) give rise to the three great branches of differential geometry (complex analytic, Riemannian and symplectic). Complex analytic geometry derives most of its interest from complex algebraic geometry, while symplectic geometry provides the general framework for Hamiltonian mechanics. These three clas...

AD-polyhedron is a polyhedron P such that if x, y are in P then so are their componentwise max and min. In other words, the point set of a D-polyhedron forms a distributive lattice with the dominance order. We provide a full characterization of the bounding hyperplanes of D-polyhedra. Aside from being a nice combination of geometric and order theoretic concepts, Dpolyhedra are a unifying genera...
