چکیده

Objectives. Since the effectiveness of Zero Open Defecation (ZOD) program as a scaling-up approach in lowering rates soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections has not yet been locally explored, this study aimed to (1) describe association between environmental determinants and STH cumulative prevalence, (2) predict 2020 prevalence. Methods. A generalized linear regression (GLR) model was used determine 2014–2015 observed 2015 while geographically weighted (GWR) produce predicted prevalence. Results. ArcGIS’ GLR tool with R2 63% found that statistically significant include distance near water bodies, forest land use, access sanitary toilet, level one source, ZOD status, GWR barangays, Cabangcalan, Matalangtalang, Talabaan, Talib Aroroy hypothetically met national target below 30% for prevalence. Spatial Modelling of Soil-Transmitted Helminth Infections in Kenya: A Disease Control Planning Tool

BACKGROUND Implementation of control of parasitic diseases requires accurate, contemporary maps that provide intervention recommendations at policy-relevant spatial scales. To guide control of soil transmitted helminths (STHs), maps are required of the combined prevalence of infection, indicating where this prevalence exceeds an intervention threshold of 20%. Here we present a new approach for ...
